Fraser Coast Common Weeds
What is my weed?
HLS offers Fraser coast residents all the answers to common and not-so common weed problems. Identification is key. If you don’t know what the problem is then how do you know what chemical to apply? HLS are Queensland Government accredited both in weed identification and the chemical application to treat them. With weeds it is easier and more cost effective to prevent an infestation by maintaining a healthy lawn. Common weeds in the Fraser coast region are; Bindi, creeping Oxalis, clover, cats ear, wire weed, crows foot and nut grass; all easily treated and kept under control.
What can you do?
The best piece of advice is; check your lawn regularly and pull out any weeds while they are small. Waiting till the weeds are larger, runs the risk of tap roots and excessive seeding, spreading the problems throughout your patch. Regular fertilising promotes lawn growth and prevents weeds gaining ground in your property. Call HLS to attend and identify your weeds and your specific lawn type. Applying the wrong product, or the wrong quantity of a product to your lawn can create irreversible damage and be very costly in the long run.
Packages and Yearly Contracts.
Contracts are not necessary and not recommended. Having been in the industry for a long time, we find monthly or monthly bi-contracts are a marketing ploy and an expensive overkill. You live at your home, you see the changes. If you think something is amiss or your lawn is looking a little sad give us a call. We would rather come out a couple of times a year as required than have you tied to an expensive contract when the cost of living is high. We don’t do contracts but we will give you excellent service and an educated price on what you are looking at spending. We are chemically licensed and will inform you on anything you need to know about chemicals around your children or pets.
Fraser Coast Common Pests
Pests in the Fraser coast regions are as varied as the soil types. Common pests are lawn grub, couch mite, black beetle and army worm (below). Unlike weeds, pests themselves are not always visible. The destruction they can cause will destroy even the most healthy of lawns. Here at HLS we have been doing this long enough to readily identify what is causing your lawn problems and to how fix it.
Pest Control
Hydro Lawn Services grub and pest control is the safest way to keep your lawn healthy throughout the year. Follow up treatments as you see changes in your lawn will help your turf remain pest free. Couch mite and grubs can destroy your lawn – well before you realise they are there. Sometimes treating a lawn for a pest like couch mite requires changes in the chemicals used. Pests become resilient to chemicals over the years and it is only through constant education and purchasing the latest chemicals that we can eradicate these pests long term.
Did you know those little nests on the underside of your home eaves are army worm? Some minor cleaning to your home can do wonders for your lawn. Sometimes what looks like a little brown patch from heat stress is actually the start of a pest investation. Give us a call to diagnose your lawn problem and apply the right chemical while the problem is small. You will generally not see the pest – you will see the result of the pest. Some lawn types get affected differently than others and require different treatment to get on top of it.
